Flash finished his Rally Novice title on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the Bonanza Kennel Club Show in Carson City, NV and earned a second place to boot.
On Saturday, October 10, 2010, Flash picked up his first 2 ASCA points going Best of Opposite Sex over a champion at the Feather River Australian Shepherd Club Conformation Trial under Judge Peter Hellmeister. Thank you!
On Satuday and Sunday, October 16 and 17 at the Truckee Meadows Dog Training Club, Inc. (TMDTC) AKC agility trial, Flash got 4 qualifying scores (4 1sts) out of 5 runs. Thanks to Leading Paws Photography for the great photos! Way to go Flashman!

Fort Lauderdale Dog Club – AKC Match
Navrock's Jack of All Trades
Jana showed Jack at the Ft. Lauderdale DC match at T-Y Park. He won Breed, then we won Herding Puppy Sr. Then we got 2nd place in Best in Match Sr. Puppy.
Jack also went to the water park which has now opened for the dogs. Jack was not thrilled to play in the water at first. He was in heaven playing with all the other dogs though. One of the lifeguards picked him up and placed him in the shallow pool. At first he just stood there like a statue. But he finally decided it would be fun to play with the dogs in the water too. He had a fantastic time.
On October 25th, I took Jack and Joy to a Preparatory School in Coconut Creek. There was over 300 kids in grades Pre-K to 5th grades divided in 3 groups. Jack was in heaven when the kids got to pet him after the talk. He rolled over and had a big grin while they rubbed him everywhere.

Crystal Peak et al. went to their club's three day ASCA agility trial this weekend. Crystal Peaks Rockstar Quartz GS-N, JS-N, RS-N, STDs(NA 1 leg/1 leg STDc/ASCA Major Ptd) Rockstar only got to trial two of the days and he finished his novice standard runs with some great runs well under course time and got one Q in open Jumpers and one in open gamblers. So he now has his JS-N, GS-N and RS-N in three trials. Crystal Peaks Aqua Aura GS-O, JS-O, RS-N, CL1-H, CL1-F, CL1-H, CGC (2 legs TN-N/1 leg TG-N) "Aura" started off great on Friday and finished her open jumpers title with two lovely runs as well as picking up a open standard Q, and a open Gamblers Q with weaves in the gamble. She picked up one more open gamble Q to finish her title. She finished her weekend with her JS-O, GS-O, and RS-N again in three trials. Crystal Peaks All That Jazz JS-O, GS-N, RS-N (2 legs NA) Jazz and Sherry Roach out of Jake and Lacy, picked up her open jumpers title, novice standard title and novice gambler title JS-O, GS-N and RS-N in two trials and she has only trialed three trials all together.

AKC Gold Country Kennel Club Show in Grass Valley, CA
Flash and Melissa Lamoureaux entered in Conformation, Beginning Novice B, and Rally Novice B. While he had little practice in Obedience and Rally for the past year, he still qualified both days and now has 2 legs to his title in each of these classes. In conformation on Sunday, he went Best of Winners under judge, Mr. William (Bill) P.Shelton for his first conformation point (picture to follow). All in all a very successful weekend. His Flyball training is progressing very nicely. He continues to live up to his name Crystal Peak JumpNJack "Flash". He is one fast, versatile boy. We have two agility trials (1 NADAC and 1 ASCA) this month as well. Now just to find the time and money for herding, cause he can do that too.

"Coral" really had a fantastic week! Rebecca reports:
They started off with 2nd place in Novice B obedience with a 194 1/2. Next day we did rally in Excellent and got 1st place with a 93 after the judge tripped and fell over a sign and Coral jumped the 2 signs next to the jump, so repeat!
On to conformation where she got 4th place in open red. Walked over to obedience to set up and find out they were on last dog, the Novice A dog! And she was just doing her recall. So 2 seconds to recoup brain and go in with 40 mph wind gusts!! She doesn't do her best, but scores a 193 1/2 and gets to my surprise 1st place!!
2 tapestry pillows in that loot and 2 logo leashes!
Today McKayla and Coral get 4th in juniors and another fun leash!
8 ribbons in total!!

Maddee & Barb got their leg Saturday & finished up Sunday with their title. Connie got her first leg in URO3 Sunday, winning the class with Sally.

"Coral" and Rebecca headed to Fargo this weekend for rally (extra legs) and for obedience hoping to finish title!! Boy did they ever!!! Coral Q's in rally with 2nd and 3rd places, 97 and a 93.
In obedience she did well on Saturday with a 194 1/2 for 2nd place! Then on Sunday she pulled off a 198!

Herding Clinic - written by Angie Claussen
Dev and Troika attended the Jim Hartenagle Clinic this weekend. All I can say is wow! They both did an awesome job! I am proud of Eileen for stepping up and taking Troika in for their very first time together. Your first time is very nerve racking but she stuck with it and did not get mad at us back sheep drivers!
The last time Dev saw sheep was over 10 months ago and all he wanted to do was run through the middle and split. Joy worked with him and by the end of the session she had him moving to the outside of the sheep and doing a nice gather. We had never done a walk about or been out of the round pen.
Fast forward to yesterday in a small arena (about 2.5 to 3 round pens) We started on a line with Jim holding while I went to my sheep. Once given the ok Dev went out and around and we were off! I was amazed at the change in him. He was working sheep!! We did have a few chases when I screwed up but he is very gentle with the stock and is not grabby. He has a calm presence and does not upset the sheep while working close or far away. He gave me lots of space for a young dog (@10 feet) By the end of the first day we were walking calming around the course and panels. He is stopping and downing and learning very quickly how to control his sheep.
At the last session of the day, Jim gave us a challenge. We tried to put the sheep through the panels but I could not walk through with them. While we did not successfully do it, we came close and I know what I need to work on. I was very proud of my boy. I would have never expected him to perform so well. Dev learned in one weekend what I spent a year training Sioux to do. After one weekend (4 10 to 15 minute lessons) he is working at a started level.
I learned so much from Jim at this clinic. I would highly recommend anyone attend one of his clinics even with a novice dog and handler.

No slowing fown for Annie and Michele King they show no signs of letting up! This weekend Annie pulled out all the stops and added three new titles! She Q'd 9 out of 11 times and placed 1st each run! As icing on the cake Annie and Michele brought home a High In Trial!

Blush was WB, BOW, and BEST OF BREED on Saturday, over 5 other bitches and 3 specials! Owner handled! She showed flawlessly, and beat out some very nice competition! She added 2 more points to her total!

International Show - Sweden - Conformation
Thornapple Mercury All Jacked Up "Jack" and Anna Lena (Kennel Easy - Sweden) took home another Best of Breed win at a big international show in Sweden. A show for all breeds he won the breed (25 entered Aussies) and was shortlisted in the group. Go Jack!

Annie and Michele King are not letting up! They got her last standard leg and she got her Agility Dog title!! She also placed 2nd in the class. If that wasn't exciting enough, they also ran Steeplechase and she qualified! Go Annie and Michele!

"Coral" and Rebecca had an amazing weekend. They finished their CD title in style, taking High In Trial Aussie with a score of 196.5 out of 200 under Judge Karen MacDonald! On Sunday they pulled a 194.5 in a run off for HIT under Judge Wilhelm.

Annie and Michele King are keeping the pressure high in 2010! Annie started out the weekend getting her Flyball Master (FM) title! Her team took first place both Saturday and Sunday and she ran several 4.1 second runs!! Go Annie and Michele!

Slydrock Arctic Blast RN CGC TN-N (AKC ptd/1 leg NA/2 legs NJC) "Blitz" and Cyndi had an another awesome trial in NADAC! Blitz took a 1st place in Tunnelers to earn his novice title with a time of 24.72--course time was 40.25. He was so fast!! He also got another jumpers leg with a second place.

Brite finished her OAC and OCC (Open Regular and Open Chances) NADAC titles this weekend. I was so proud of her Chances.....we've been working distance and she got the Q that her brother didn't!! (Chances is the same course, the line just moves a little bit per level, and I really thought it was still too far away for Brite in Open, but she NAILED it)...
We do ASCA agility Easter weekend.....

"Shine" and Jayna also had success at the NADAC trial in Texas! Shine took a 1st place in Jumpers with a course time of 19.00 sec and 3rd Place on Sunday to his brother Blitz!

Britey & Donna showed at the New Hope ASC conformation show this weekend, and in the first show out, Brite took WB for three points Breeder Judge Barbara Applegate. Brite now has 13 points, all majors.

Annie and Michele King are continuing their hot streak in 2010! She came home with 2 Q's in gamblers, 2 jumpers, and 2 snooker classes and place 2nd in a Snooker and a Jumper's class and 3rd in Gambler's! Michele and Annie also ran in the tournament classes with the big dogs and she had some brilliant runs for a baby dog! Would have been in the top 10 percent in Grand Prix if she had gotten her weave entry! Go little red dog!
